Note: Thesis is written in Mi'kmaq language (no English translation) for fulfillment of requirements for a Master of Arts degree in Atlantic Canada Studies. The work examines the unique worldview, which is part of the Mi'kmaq tribal consciousness. These concepts are presented with regard to Mi'kmaw governance, family life, belief systems, science, economy, medicine, and leisure activities. Thesis is based on interviews with Elders of the Mi'kmaq nation living in the district of Unama’ki (Cape Breton).
